Is Organic Really Better?
by Jessica Arzt
Fruits & VeggiesNow a-days we hear about new fads in the form of the best "lose weight" protein shakes to the "miracle" pills that will take away the negative symptoms you experience from headaches to joint pain. So is Organic just another fad?

Absolutely not! Have you ever tried a home grown fruit or vegetable and compared it to the same item bought at your local market? Why does it taste so different? Could it be the pesticides and preservatives? If that is the case, is it possible to get the same nutrients from the store bought products?

A study by Firman E. Baer at the Rutgers University compiled a study of the variations in mineral content in vegetables, let us note just a couple of his findings.

(percentage of Dry weight * millequivalents per 100 grams Dry Weight)

Tomatoes- Iron
Organic: 1938
Commercial: 1

Spinach- Sodium
Organic: 69.5
Commercial: .8

The following 3 tips are key ingredients to be productive wether in business or in your personal life... enjoy.

Tip #1-
Tame the phone, fax, & e-mail
If your in the real world you probably get more unnecessary phone calls, faxes, and e-mails throughout the day than you like.
To stay focused take few if any incoming calls, and return calls at your convenience.
BONUS-If your really brave
If you really need to focus... turn your phone off
Jessica's tip- check and/or respond to e-mails 2x's a day

Tip #2-
Minimize Meetings
When your goal is to have the highest productivity and need to meet someone here are some suggestions:
- If meeting at a restaurant, bring a book or work (just in case they are late)
- Have them meet at your office or home (you take out the travel time)
- Meet before or after lunch (that adds 1-2 hours of productive time to your schedule)

Tip #3
Make and Use Lists
Try to keep all information in 1 or 2 books which reduces clutter. The following are 4 major lists to create and maintain:
1- My Schedule (daily planner)
2- Things to do list (prioritize by month, week, and day)
3- People to call list
4- Conference Planner
